Supporting Your Journey, Nurturing Strength in Parenthood
About Me
Hi there! I'm Trisha Goodall, a counseling student passionate about supporting individuals and families through all stages of their parenthood journey.
My path has led me from the tech world to advocating for parents, and now I'm on the road to becoming a therapist. I'm in my second year of a Masters in Counseling program, with experience in developing support tools for new families and training as a postpartum doula.
In my studies, I'm particularly drawn to combining feminism and storytelling, recognizing the power of each person's unique story. I'm also deeply interested in trauma work and how past experiences impact our present and future.
I aim to create a warm, judgment-free space where parents, once-parents, and soon-to-be parents can share their stories, explore their feelings about parenthood, and discover their innate strengths* while acknowledging societal challenges.
I'm excited about the journey ahead and look forward to supporting families in the future. Stay tuned for updates on my progress and future services!
*Note: When I talk about strength and resilience, I'm not promoting toxic positivity or glorifying struggles. I recognize that many challenges individuals face are due to systemic issues that shouldn't exist. My approach acknowledges both personal capacity and the need for societal change. For more on this perspective, I recommend this Life Kit podcast episode from 2022: Why you should stop complimenting people for being 'resilient'.
